How many times in the past have I said this "I am going to stick with it and reach my goal"!! But then, first thing you know, I am back to making all of the same mistakes. So this time I am not saying I am on the path to reach my goal. Instead I am on the path to learn what I have been doing wrong and to turn those 'wrongs' into 'rights'.
Here are a few that I have learned so far:
1. The taste buds are located on my tongue. When I scarf down the food so fast, I never even taste it and therefore my cravings are never satisfied and I continue eating to get that moment of satisfaction. Plan? I am going to eat slowly, chew each bite until the taste is all gone before swallowing.
2. When I have a cup of coffee, it always calls for some dark chocolate to make the experience more exciting. I am sure not all of you have that problem but it is a big one for me. In the past I was drinking coffee all day long~~~and adding the frozen dark chocolate to melt on my tongue, not one piece but several. Plan? I am going to make only 2 cups of coffee in the morning and no more the rest of the day. And learn to enjoy that without the dark chocolate.
3. There are some things that I CANNOT have in my house. Ice cream, peanut butter, the afore mentioned dark chocolate, chips, pop corn. A little won't hurt but I don't seem to be able to stick with the 'little'. Plan? I am not going to buy any of those things.
4. I have been very lax in tracking my nutrition on Sparks. Even though I know that is the best way to stay on track. Plan? Back to faithfully tracking every bite that goes into my mouth.
Those are what I have come up with so far but stay tuned for any further 'bad for me' revelations.
Right now I am very determined! I know that to get somewhere, you have to know where you want to go and how to get there. Then never, never, never give up. Norman Vincent Peale.
It is not an easy journey; it is an up hill struggle.
It's not the stronger one who wins. It's the one who is most determined to never give up.
It takes patience but slow and steady is the best (and only) way.
And be fully prepared to win.
