The Slipshod Triathlete

Last year this time, I was in PEAK form. I had a plan for training and eating that I followed meticulously. I looked great, I felt great. The West Point Triathlon was exciting and fun.
This year its been alot more "meh...." I've had other events in my sights (Hudson River Swim, a potential half marathon in Sept) that have somewhat distracted me from true triathlon training. However, when I look over last year's training calendar, I'm seeing much of what I'm doing. So essentially, I'm a whole lot less organized, but doing basically the same thing.
Well, with the exception of the bike. With the HM in my sights (just completion! no time goal for my first) I've been doing more running. The Child has also been home more this summer for financial reasons, so its put a crimp on my training time. I've had about 50% success at getting up early before DH leaves for work. So I think my bike times are going to suffer a bit from lack of training. I'm curious to see what this slipshod training has on my other times.
Still, its such a beautiful event and course that mostly its about just being there.
West Point is next weekend. Sister is not going to be available because she is going to be at her own event: The Tour Du Goshen, a 45 mile bike tour. She has been meticulous with her training. She has a written plan that she follows...kinda like me last year with the triathlon. I wish I could be there to cheer her on, I'm trying to think of a way that I could possible meet her at the finish line.
The week after the event, we are finally going on a vacation as a family. DH Child and I all together! Looking forward to it!
