Inspiration. When you think about inspiration, what kinds of things come to your mind? Is it an inspiring movie that you once watched that brought feelings up within you that just made you want to achieve something greater than you ever dreamed? Is it a good book that you didn't want to put down because it stirred feelings within you that weren't "normal" feelings, but so enjoyable? Is it a friend or co-worker you are watching working towards a goal and seeing their passion for it gives you that feeling that you only feel when you are inspired? The possibilities are endless.
I personally find inspiration in so many things in my life. I'm inspired by my children and the beautiful people they are becoming. I'm inspired by the many runners that I follow and watching their achievements only fuels my own desire for my personal goals. I'm inspired by my fellow sparker on his way to his first triathlon, sharing everything along the way as if I'm there with him. Social media can truly be a blessing at times like these, otherwise I would probably never even know he was going through this amazing time in his life. I'm inspired by my love who stands by me through tough times and shares in the efforts we both put in to make everything work as smooth as possible. I'm inspired by my friends as I watch them go through life, struggling at times, disappearing at other times only to reappear a stronger version of their self.
Finding inspiration in the things others do isn't all that difficult. It takes appreciation and perspective to see things in a way that causes the feeling of inspiration within you. But what about finding inspiration in the things that YOU do? How often do we look at ourselves and feel truly inspired by something that we did? We complete our workouts, eat properly, maybe lose some weight, do the things that we know we should be doing for ourselves, but how often do we truly sit there and feel inspired by these accomplishments? Finding inspiration in ourselves is an important piece of our puzzles here. We are all inspiring in one way or another. Everyone has something that another person can learn from, grow from, get excited over. But we need to see these things as inspiring, too. Next time you accomplish something on your list of things to do, take a bit more pride in it and try to find a bit of inspiration in yourself. This will turn into a habit and the way in which you see your own life could possibly become the most inspiring novel yet.
