Watching Henry today

Friday, August 09, 2013

Henry got stung by a bee yesterday on the hand while he was in his mom's care and she sent him to summer school with a swollen hand and they couldn't get back in touch with her. So Jack had to run up to the school and get him and take him to the doctor's. They are back on there way home now. He is going to need to be watched and given Benadryl and ice packs. So I won't be going on any walks or doing my "Free Step" today. But I will still get some steps in doing house work and such while watching him.

GOOZLEBEAR, keep a watch out on that bite spot then. If it was a recluse spider and it starts to swell or look infected get to a drs or urgent care asap.

Poor guy, he is right handed and it got his right thumb and the whole hand is noticeably swollen! He is not happy with having to have an ice pack on it either. I think the Benadryl is knocking him out which will be good. He was suppose to be eating his lunch but he wasn't really into it and kept trying to lay down and watch tv instead. Said it was too hard to eat with his right or left hand. Looks like he will probably fall a sleep really soon which is really unusual for our energizer bunny guy. I don't have the whole story yet, but supposedly his mom didn't have her phone with her for what ever reason. But Jack got a hold of her by e-mail. But that is all he has told me. He has decided to work from home today just in case Henry needs him. I got him to have an ice pack wrapped to his hand for 15 mins and then took it off like the dr suggested. I think I will let him try to fall a sleep before I try to put another on for another 15 mins. So maybe in an hr or so we can try the ice again.

Hope he feels better and doesn't have any other reaction. My DH got bit by something here at our cabin and he has two big red spots, must have been a spider!

Have a good weekend!

Thanks everyone! I didn't even get told that he was stung until Jack got the call to come and get him. But I guess the day before she had sent Jack an e-mail about Henry maybe getting to go to a Martial Arts Summer Camp that is coming up and about some other issues that they needed to discuss about Henry. And in that e-mail she mentioned that he had got stung by a bee, but she didn't mention that his hand was swollen or anything else about it. And it's not the first time he has gotten bitten recently either, but I guess this is the first time he really had a reaction from it from what I know about him from the 4 years out of his 8 yrs that I have known him. Jack called me from the school and said it was swollen and warm to the touch too. Well they are here now, so I am off.
