You Might Be Slightly Overscheduled When...

For dinner, you find yourself at a gas station convenience store, eating an all-beef hotdog, a bowl of chili and bottled orange juice, using the hood of your truck as a table!
Yep, that was me this evening--and truth be told, I was relieved to have time to eat dinner. I'd been working since 6:30am on one project before scarfing a granola bar and banana, and going to a part-time temp job for the afternoon. I changed clothes, dashed out of work a few minutes early, stopped into a copy-shop, then headed to an early evening meeting.
Amazingly, I landed right in the middle of my calorie range today. I even had 5 or 6 servings of fruit, although no veggies to speak of.
Sometimes we just do what we must. And then make plans to do better.
So on Friday, I will make time to go to the grocery store and stock up on nutritious foods that I can take with me on hectic days--more fruit, but also baby carrots, radishes and celery, whole wheat crackers, yogurt, almonds and string cheese. I'll make several sandwiches ahead of time. I'll create my own healthy convenience store.
Because an even crazier weekend looms...and I plan to be prepared!
