Today I watched an advertisement Part One & Two ? Answered

Friday, August 09, 2013

I was foxed into watching an advertisement I had avoided for years. It is always on my Aol mail. The Five Food you should never eat. I was looking up why soy was bad for you on Sparks and up it came. It didn't take me long to figure out what I had done, but I decided I would finally listen to the whole thing. The five foods they list are Orange Juice from Concentrate, Whole Wheat Bread, Genetically Altered soy, Genetically Altered Corn, and Margarine. Now you don't have to watch it. And no I did not get Spark Points for watching the silly thing. And for some bargain price of 40 or 50 some dollars you can have lifetime rights to their program which sounds a lot like Sparks. Definitely not as great.

Part 2
That particular advertisement suggested that we eat multi grain instead of wheat. I still want to research that information. The reason they didnt want us to have orange juice was, because the nutrition was taken away when turning it into concentrate. You lost all the healthy benefits, because when it is processed companies take basically everything away except sugar water. Although this particular ad wasn't for a juicer, they probably could have gotten together. These where just their theories. I think the main theme was when we process and change foods we stripe away the value. It was just an advertisement. However, I still found myself wanting to research ingredients and look at them in a different light. Have a good day.

WE have been unsure about the whole wheat versus multi grain as well. I'm leery of the advertisements until it is checked out too. great post and a reminder to research more.

When you have your own oranges and make it you can taste the difference in the juice quality but now don't have the orange tree it got hit with some bug and then we lost our ruby grapefruit tree this past year before my husband passed

Until I did "The Shred" I did not know there was a difference in juice. I never noticed the "made from concentrate" or that almost all of cranberry juice is a juice cocktail. You can get the juice "not from concentrate" but you will probably pay more for it!

I often wonder why they purge all the goodness out of an ingredient, turn it into a product, then 'enrich' it with the stuff they took out in the first place! Ugh!

Hmmm...I often wondered what foods they were dis-ing, but I would never click on the ad because I didn't want to be exposed to someone trying to sell me something.

Now I know.

Thank you for sharing this.

Gotta give the marketers credit... they do know how to hype something.

If they only knew how disappointed we end up... wait... I know those corporations cry wolf all the time... it is no wonder I do not believe them anymore.
