"but i want it NOW!" do you remember veruca salt, from willy wonka and the chocolate factory? well, i am feeling like her right now. she wanted an ooma loompa, right away, she wanted the boat, she wanted one of the golden geese, that lay golden eggs for Easter! (do you have her song stuck in your head yet? lol!) emoticon

she didn't want to wait for ANYthing. but after the boat incident (very scary boat!) emoticon she decided she didn't want it. and after wanting the geese that lay chocolate eggs emoticon emoticon , we found out, she was a "bad egg"! HOPEFULLY, she and her father didn't get burned in the furnace! they DID have a 50/50 chance, since it is only lit every other day, so they had a fighting chance, right? (LOL!)

discipline... delaying instant gratification for something better later. actually, i have heard many quotes close to that one, but in the end, discipline, consistency is what is needed.

i sit here today (it is already 11:00am) writing this, i have been up since 8am emoticon , and i don't want to work out! emoticon i just want the work out fairy, to wave her magic wand, and "poof!", my work out is done! emoticon . don't get me wrong, i LOVE to work out, but i am just not feeling it. and as the day progresses, it is only gonna get warmer. emoticon . it happened yesterday, i put off my work out until late in the day, and it got SO hot and humid, it was very hard to work out. emoticon . i had to quit sooner than i wanted, because i was so hot and sweaty and drained.

you THINK i would have learned from yesterday, and i would have already worked out, right? pffft, no! i have done so many things, i am avoiding working out! laundry emoticon , dishes emoticon , taking care of the animals emoticon emoticon ,checked e-mail emoticon , checked facebook, checked sparkpeople emoticon , heck, even right now i am stalling by, looking for cute little icons to add to this blog! emoticon

sometimes it is so hard to get going, i have noticed as i have become more... mature (i refuse to say older!) it takes me longer to get going. i like to relax a bit more, taking it slowly.

heck, if i would have started this work out emoticon when i started this blog, i would be done by now, doh! emoticon

yes, i know all the little "tricks" , only say that i hafta do 10 minutes, and i already have everything set up, so i just hafta turn on the tv, and put in the dvd, and i am already dressed emoticon , have one of my favorite work outs ready to go (billy blanks tae bo). i just gotta get up and do it.

i have lost pounds already this month, i am getting to be a lot more consistent, i know it takes time before i reach my goal, i just hafta keep it up, do what i need to do now, to get what i really want later...

okay, enough stalling, here i go, hope everyone else didn't have such a hard time getting their work out done!

i KNOW i will feel better after!

    I know when I have a hard workout it almost always carries over to the next day. I'm afraid the next one will be hard too. Of course it's never as bad as I think it "might" be. Talking myself into doing it is harder than the workout!

    We have all been where you are at today. I am there every morning at 5:15 when my alarm goes off to take the dog for a walk before going to work. I get up, put him up on his leash and sit outside long enough for him to potty and back to bed we go for about 30 minutes. Do I sleep good for those 30 minutes, no, so there really isn't a point to go back to bed. I should just stay up and walk, but haven't found the motivation to do that yet lol.

    I'm right there with you. I srt my alarm this morning for 5:45a so I could go for a wlka before the humidity was unbearable and before my son padded into our room. So, what did I do?!? Walked across the room (yes, i moved it so I WOULDN"T go back to bed), turned it off, and snuggled back under my covers.

    Fod goodness sake, I have PAID for 4 walking races in the next two months, and am doing very little to meet my goals. I would also like the exercise and nutrition fairies to visit me emoticon , take the weight off (poof!), and increase my energy emoticon - no luck so far.

    You've motivated me to give my friend a call and set a walking date for this evening, so emoticon
