The weather has been so mild, it's been great weather for getting outside and enjoying anything you like! I'm loving every minute of this! I ride my bike to the pool, swim, and then get back on my bike. It's amazing how this ritual renews me in every way; I feel less stressed, I have a game-plan for how my day is gonna go, and it motivates me to make good food choices.
Speaking of food choices, I'm finished logging my food for my 38th consecutive day. It's a new record for me! I haven't been perfect every single day, but I have truly logged everything I put into my mouth, and I've stayed in the calorie range that my dr. insisted I stick to...even if I exercise, he doesn't want me adding to my 1500-calorie plan. I do pretty good for the most part; on the days I ride more than 20 miles, I allow myself closer to 2000 calories, but otherwise I'm sticking to the 1500-1600 range and I'm finally having some success. I feel like I've been gaining and losing the same 15 lbs. for the past 2 years, so this is a great feeling that I hope will continue.
I feel better about myself than I have in a long time. My clothes are starting to fit looser, but also, I don't look in the mirror and hate the way I look anymore. Yes I have curves, and they're not going anywhere even as I continue to lose; I mean really, I've had 5 kids! I think for someone who has been through childbirth as many times as I have, I'm doing alright! ;)
I'm also feeling happy because I started my student-teaching internship this week. No kids yet, just getting the room ready and attending training sessions and organizing my desk and loading stuff on my workstation. But it has been oh-so-exciting to finally be in a classroom on the other side of the teacher's desk. I love my cooperating-teacher. She is a 35-year teacher with a ton of experience, but because we are rolling out the new Common Core standards this year, she feels just as much like a first-year teacher as I do. She has been amazing all summer, giving me stuff and helping me get set up. We're gonna have a great year. I'm overwhelmed today with lots of training material and my to-do list is long, but this is also where my daily exercise and food plan are working their magic and keeping me on track. It's all coming together now. :) :) :)
