Breaking out of the box!

Tried a new class:

I like to do a variety of types of exercise, and generally do something different each day of the week.

The classes I do regularly every week include: Les Mills Body Attack, Body Combat, and CXWorx, pole, silks, ball and bars (weights and conditioning), advanced step, zumba, build and burn (a circuit weight/cardio class) and TRX.

I have been thinking about trying a different conditioning class at the Combat Sports Center where I do TRX. It's called Combat Physique. I knew it was kind of a boot camp style class, but I figured it would be a lot different than boot camp at a standard gym.

I did it this morning, and I wasn't disappointed at all! Of course, it had a lot of the standard stuff, but it had several things I had seen that I wanted to try.

New things I did: truck tire flipping, sledge hammer swinging and hitting the tire, rope climbing (that was enough like pole and silks that it didn't seem that new). It was a challenging, fun class.

On the down side: The tire flipping got me really dirty. Part of it was outside, not my favorite place to workout but necessary for the tire and hammer stuff. My other complaint about this gym is that even though they have air conditioning, they must keep it set at close to 80, and it is always so hot. The days we were near 100 with bad humidity, I stayed away from this gym.

Overall, I enjoyed the class. They have a Crossfit class I want to try, but it is early in the morning, and it is a long way from my house. So we'll see if I do it.

    How great to have such a variety of classes available to you!! You'll never get in a rut! Keep it up - trying new things keeps us young!
