Goal Weight Evaluation

Today I am thinking about how close I am to my goal weight. I am 146.8 and my goal weight is 144. I chose this number because it will be 50 pounds lost and puts me just into the healthy BMI zone. I'm not positive where I want to go from there. I know I don't want to sit on that line between healthy and over-weight. I was thinking maybe trying 5 pound increments and then reevaluating how I felt. I'm assuming I don't actually go on maintenance until I reach that magic number ( once I figure out what that is. ) If anyone has any suggestions of what they did or plan to do I would appreciate the input.

  I like the 5 pounds at a time method. You can always check with your doctor the next time you are in there, since they have this annoying habit of weighing me every single time I go. (At least they stopped making the clucking sounds.)

Congrats on your progress so far and that you are smart enough to consider the next steps in advance.

    Once you hit 144 just coast a little. Stay at 144 and see how you feel. I'm been sticking to the same number this round and I'm finally not liking my weight again. I'm ready to go for another 5 but I know I have to be really disciplined to do it.

    I haven't reached my goal weight yet, but I chose one by taking the healthy weight range from the BMI chart for my body type. I took the middle of that range because, like you, I did not want to be hovering at the border. Since I am less than 5 feet tall, I will have to re-evaluate whether it was a reasonable goal weight when I get into the healthy weight range. I'm close, but that's not quite good enough.
