I haven't seen much progress on the scales for awhile so haven't bothered weighing myself lately... Instead, noticing signs of progress and a more healthier me and focusing on them! Clothes that I barely could squeeze into now are "roomy"... Clothes that fit me fairly well before are getting to be too big. Clothes that I couldn't even wear, I can fit into. I can see a difference when I look into my full length mirror, something I avoided doing for the most part. I still have quite a ways to go, but I do see a change --- thinner face, smaller shoulders, little less all over where there was way too much before. Before, 10 minutes of exercise could be quite a challenge. Last week I took a 3 hour hike up a mountain with my daughter and our dogs. No way would I have been able to do that last year! It is still very challenging to keep up and have to stop once in awhile to catch my breath, but I am able to keep going. I'm finding as time goes by and the more I hike, the better I am getting at it -- just like other things that are part of living a healthy lifestyle. Today I was looking at photos from over the years. A lot of times I managed to avoid the camera, but there were a lot of pics of me definitely weighing a lot more than I do now --- a few when I was at my highest weight --- almost 70 lbs more than I weigh today. I managed to lose a little and not be quite as big, but never been able to get down too far and would always gain back some of the weight. I would give up because what I was doing wasn't working or stopped working. SparkPeople is definitely working for me. It's nice when people I haven't seen for awhile ask me what I am doing because they notice a change and I tell them "SparkPeople"!!!!
