Day 2 of my juice fast and I'm here to say that so far, day 1 has been the hardest. ;-) There may have been several naps.

That little factoid was also magnified by my aforementioned fast, fast, as in NO food between 6:30 and 3 for some bloodwork. SO glad that's over. Should have my baseline in the next day or 2. I don't get the next blood test until December. I now have the A-ok from 2 of my doctors: the allergist and my primary care physician. The allergist because of some irritants involved in the juicing. I've noticed they both spend a lot more time with me now as a pro-active patient. She's really excited about this juice fast and is hoping, as am I, that this will give me the boost I need. She gave me some good pointers on upping my protein as well. I'm also devouring (only a few teeth marks) Dr. Joel Fuhrman's Eat to Live book. I need some guidelines on how I'm going to carry this on for the long run. Dr Furhman was featured in the movie I previously talked about: Fat Sick and Nearly Dead.

In other interesting (to me) news, my heart rate was 56 BPM. What the hey? I guess all the walking is doing me good.

I know we're not supposed to demonize food but the foods I'm really having trouble with are my gateway drugs to a downward spiral. They're trigger foods for me and I'm really trying to change this.

I have to say the hardest part so far is resisting the urge to pop all those yummy veggies and fruit in my mouth whilst prepping them for the juicer.

    Sounds like you are doing good with Juicing. If you have any question about ETL you can always ask question @ our ETL team in SparkPeople. We are very active team who is following DR. Joel Furhman's ETL plan. There is always helpful topics and discussion there.
