One more day closer to September!

Tuesday, August 06, 2013

The good news - the rains are over.

Now comes the intense heat - not as hot as California, but up in the upper 90's, with 80+ percent humidity. Hot by almost any standard.

So the biking shifts to 5 - 6:30 AM - too hot to do it anytime else. At least that's a pretty and quiet time along the river.

But I am NOT a morning person. So I will get up to do the rides - but I don't like it.

I can't wait for mid-September! Then we will get back to normal temps. Only about 5 more weeks. Fortunately here the real hot season is mercifully short.

Onward!

I too have challenges getting motivated for morning rides . . . . Especially on weekdays. I try to tell myself that 1 to 2 hours on the bike in the morning gets my metabolism jump started for the day!

Mornings can be rough but they grow on you. I recently got back from 10 days in Taiwan and the heat and humidity can be really overwhelming. One day a colleague took me out for a bike ride in the local mountains which was awesome.
