Mindfulness and Paying Attention

Today my adult son from Texas comes home for a week. All right, it really isn't HIS home any longer, but... I am beyond excited to see him since it has been since Christmas. Since he has sort of a routine to visit all his favorite food places to visit while he is here, it sort of presents a problem. He is not expecting me to spend time making elaborate meals, that's good. He is expecting us to join him at his favorite places, that's bad. I have a plan, which 6 months ago I would not have even bothered thinking up one! I have asked him to give me warning the night before where we are going the next night. I will decide ahead of time what I will order, I will eat lighter the rest of the day, and I will NOT miss one day of exercise! I will pay attention to myself, in addition to someone else!

I will be mindful of all aspects of my life.

I will be paying attention every day. I've got this! emoticon

  Yes it is his home as you are there and as my son tells me "Home is where you are Mom". Hope you have a great time with you DS!

Good plan having him let you know the day before you are going to to one of his favourite restaurants.....drink 32 ounces of water before you go and eat some protein. You will find that you really aren't that hungry when you get to the restaurant.
