Enjoying my vacation... going on a hike on a Monday!

Hello dear Sparkfriends,
Oh it is wonderful to go on a hike on a Monday! I love being on vacation!
At the time when I should have been on paths and enjoying the sunshine, yesterday, I was carrying tables up the stairs. Now that I am very happy with the changes in my apartment, it was time to go walking. I went to Boran-sur-Oise, 30 minutes North from where I live (so roughly 40 minutes by train from Paris). I wanted to walk by the river!
I am not sure why, but I felt like this walk was completely timeless. I wouldn't have been surprised if suddenly I had seen a man on a 1940s bicycle with a black beret and a baguette! Throughout my walk I had the song 'Douce France' from Charles Trenet in my head. As soon as I got home I looked for it on the Internet and listened to it!
How wonderful that this river's banks are protected. In the USA it would probably be developed and hence unwalkable... Truly one of your most beautiful walks! and a great capture of that sweet dog looking over the wall. The song seems happy to me, compared to a lot of French songs! Trenet was a grand singer! 1077 days ago
Lovely pictures as always. How long is your vacation? You mentioned the train do you ride trains often? We don't have many passenger trains in the U.S. but that is changing. You have beautiful areas to walk in! You are a very good photographer. I hope you are enjoying your vacation! 1079 days ago
This walk reminds me of the northern part of California near the coast. When you get north of San Francisco, you get away from the crowds. There are small towns (nothing before 1850) with people who want to live a quiet life in nature. The houses are all quaint with small individual businesses close by. There are many rivers, lots of trees and there are flowers growing everywhere. I am going to have to go back through some trips and post a few pictures.
