Total and complete derailment (aka Day 15)

****30 DAY CHALLENGE****
1. blog progress/setbacks
2. drink water EVERY DAY not just weekdays.
3. Avoid alcohol like the plague
4. better balance on veggies over fruits
5. lean meats & protein galore.
6. ABSOLUTELY NO GLUTEN.
7. log calories
8. Run once/week

Friday was fine. Saturday was set up for failure. I did my class from 10:30-11:30, showered quick at the Y, then headed to a Lia Sophia party where I was able to eat some yogurt w/fruit and these yummy ham & egg appetizers (ham, egg, onion, cheese). Then I zipped off to a 3 hour hair appt (stupid, I know, but my hair is THICK and for a cut & color, it just takes that long). I was STARVING by the time I got home at 4, had a quick apple & almond butter and some almond crackers, but had little time to eat much else as I had a zumba event I had to leave the house shortly after 5 for. Got home around 8:30 and was RAVENOUS. Ate a burrito (hello, gluten, my old nemesis) and then attacked some sour cream & onion chips. That would have been fine if I Had not woken up Sunday feeling that calorie deficit still and having the urge to stuff my face with ALL KINDS OF CRAP. emoticon Toaster Strudel, some Keebler cookies, a bite of pizza. more chips. Oh, and a Blizzard on my trip to drop my oldest at my brother's house 75 mins away.

emoticon Also, I think like ONE glass of water yesterday.

So total and complete derailment. Felt like garbage this morning on account of it, and slept HORRIBLY last night, probably in part from the increased sugar in addition to the surge of gluten.

Not gonna fret too much more. Will do my best to make today strong, despite feeling like the walking dead. If I can keep it together on this last stretch, I think I'll still be better off in the long run.

Sometimes, I just get so tired of thinking about all of it.

24 days til vacation. emoticon

    This is the first time I read your blog, and I loved it.
I can't have toaster strudel in the house. I can have ice cream and cookies around and never look at them, but toaster strudel and stove top stuffing are like magnets!!!

Good job at the blogging. some day this will be old hat and you won't need to think so much about it, but in the beginning it's an obsession.
But emoticon

After 6 weeks or so you will be more at ease and once we make goal, think how awesome we will feel, and eating healthy and skipping sugar will be like walking.

    I always do better when I work my derailments (AKA cheat days) into the plan! Maybe you were in need of some comfort foods?

    As I said in my blog, tired of thinking about it too.

Well, you did derail a bit. Did you track all of those calories? If not, you should. Just to let you know how far over the range you went. Seeing it in writing might get your back on track permanently.

In the meantime, shake it a little bit harder during your salsa and burn more calories! ha ha! I would love to take a zumba class some time that consisted only of salsa dancing. (and only Pit Bull songs) Of course, my waist and hips would be killing me the next day!

    I like your honesty! I see where you made some unwise choices but like they tell us life happens. You can't be perfect all the time but I hope you at least enjoyed that blizzard. Get back on track and enjoy each day. Maybe not make your schedule so hectic. Just think things through before making those commitments. You know the drill. Have a great week!

    My eating over the weekend was not good either - gluten city and today I am staying close to the bathroom for obvious reasons. Ugh.
