I usually do my weekly update on Mondays, but there will be no update today due to a crazy day yesterday. Yesterday was my husband's and my anniversary. We did not have big plans other than to go out to dinner in the evening. Otherwise, the day would be a normal day for us.
My husband is planning on a long distance bike ride with several of his buddies in early September and he has needed to do training in order to ensure that the ride will be comfortable as possible. He has done two previous such rides in years past, so he knew what he needed to do in order to be ready. Sunday mornings are usually a good time to do a long bike ride, so he decided to do one and I decided to do my usual three mile walk/jog.
The weather was nice and the morning relatively cool, so my walk/jog had a little more jog in it than usual. Maybe some day I might even be jogging the entire route! As I arrived back at the house from my walk/jog, I saw my husband's bicycle sitting in the carport. It was way too soon for him to be home. Then I saw him sitting in the carport holding his left shoulder.
I took him to the emergency room at the hospital. After five hours there, he was diagnosed and discharged. Long story short, my husband had an accident in which he fell and landed on his shoulder resulting in a broken collar bone. In the excitement of all this, I totally forgot to do my weekly tale of the scale and tape. Maybe that is just as well as I had not been logging everything in this week anyway.
Here is my abbreviated Weekly Update:
Water consumption remains great. I have now gone 63 consecutive days of drinking at least eight or more glasses of water. The number of hours of sleep has been erratic again, but the quality has been good even on those nights that I get only six hours. My exercise routine has been outstanding with ten consecutive weeks of 150 minutes or more of exercise. A lot of my being able to maintain such consistency of exercise is due to my belonging to a pedometer challenge with one of my Spark Teams. Doing a pedometer challenge is a great way to ensure you are moving every day. I highly recommend doing one.
That is all for my Week #9 Update.
