To be or not to be; fit, that is.

Sunday, August 04, 2013

My husband and I went walking at the wildlife sanctuary this afternoon and ran into one of my kids and his parents. This was their first time there and I was telling them where the otters and other animals where. They went toward the animals and my husband and I went in the other direction. A little while later we met up withbthem again and they had given up and were headed back to their car because it seemed so far away. I couldn't believe it. I may not be in the best shape, but I am making changes.

Looking at this couple you would think they were quite fit, but here they were telling me they were lazy and couldn't walk that far. I'm fitter than I thought.

There's a farmer's market somewhere around here every Wednesday during the summer. With my current veggie obsession I am quite curious and want to visit it. Problem is, I can't figure out where it is. Just about everyone at work knows the farmer's market, but they can't tell me where it is because I don't know where anything is and rely too much on my GPS. Will have to ask again tomorrow, and put it out on Facebook.

Tomorrow I am planning on feeding my husband a GF zucchini pizza casserole. I think it's going to be like a pizza lasagna with zucchini instead of noodles. If he doesn't like it I'll make him grilled cheese, but he likes my other zucchini dishes so I'm not too worried.

Speaking of GF, yesterday we met my in-law's for supper. It was for my MIL's birthday. The original restaurant she chose had a salad I could eat, with a few alterations. I had no desire to go since the day before I'd had to put up with all of my co-workers eating Fazoli's. Anyway, when she found out that wasn't a really good place for me she found another restaurant that had a special GF menu. It was wonderful to have choices, and I was so touched that she switched restaurants for my benefit.

Here's to another week.

How a person looks is rarely a good measure as to how fit they are. A year and a half ago I was underweight and my health conditions were really doing me a lot of harm, but people who didn't know me thought I was probably running several miles a day and eating all healthy foods. There are also people who are larger but they've been working out so they're more fit than many 'normal' sized people. Just goes to show that your effort is worth it.

Have you tried googling the city name (I don't remember if you're in Green Bay or just near it) and "farmer's market"? So much is online now that you should be able to find a website with an address or map or at least an article with information. I just searched "Green Bay WI farmer's market" and got a couple good hits.

Nice to see that your MIL made the effort for you. I truly hope she's changing her tune towards you.
