I went from basically working, grandkids and that was about it. Boy was I in for a shock when I joined this 8 week program! I meet with an exercise physiologist 3 times a week, a dietician once a week and a psychologist once a week … so FIVE appointments from Monday thru Friday! … the first week was so exciting but now it’s a real adjustment … I’m in it for the long haul and really learning a lot of things but it’s probably the hardest thing to change your entire routine and readjust to living and breathing a healthy balanced life and all that it entails. Which is exercise, grandkids, spirituality, work, managing the stress and revamping your entire LIFE! But then again no one said it would be easy … it is a WORK IN PROGRESS and I will keep going day by day until this all becomes an old habit!
Also, something that is really bothering me is the fact that I am on a beta blocker due to high blood pressure and my heart rate REFUSES to raise itself where it needs to be ... so I feel like I'm NOT getting the benefits .. I just swam for 45 minutes and my heart rate didn't go above 90! Very disappointing to say the least. At least my trainer is aware and I should still be getting the benefits of exercise but that the beta blocker is doing what is supposed to do ... NOT make the heart work too hard --- one day soon I know I will be off those pills .... YEAH!

… and sometimes I really wish the pounds would come off much faster with all this work I’m doing … but there is a reason … and it’s the healthy way to do it … learning crucial tools such as nutrition, setting goals and as my brother said “Slow and steady wins the race” … trying to adjust my mindset … I’ll get there … as I said I am definitely a WORK IN PROGRESS. ONWARD!
