Finally under 270.. geez you'd think it would be easier. lol

Saturday, August 03, 2013

Finally the scale read below 270, I'll take that 269.5 and keep lowering that number until I reach my goal weight. Now, I really don't know what that number really is. I may love my body at 160, or 150. But 145 sounded like a good number and apparently its where I should be for my height and build. But we'll see!

Taking my time in this first Phase of my weight loss journey because in the past I was in such a hurry to lose weight I starved myself many times and look where it got me. I'm learning new eating habits, and that takes a little time to absorb. Yes, I know many out there cringe at weighing their food or measuring something, but for me - I HAVE to know what I am eating especially when it comes to like cereal, rice and pasta. At some point I probably won't need to weigh or measure anything as I will have trained my eyes to know whats a healthy portion. I need this - may not be for everyone - but its been working for the last couple of months and I'm seeing results.

True, I need to take working out a notch UP as weight loss without some form of exercise and strength training, etc. Only leaves you with a smaller you - no definition or the shape you saw in your vision. Case in point, yes I've lost like 20 pounds.. but its taken my pear shape body to a slightly smaller pear shape.

I need to workout. So thats why I started doing a light dumbbell routine. I SEE in my vision what I want to look like - and diet and healthy eating alone will not get me there. Especially if I want those nice abs! lol

True some people can lose weight and their body snaps into shape and they don't need to do much else but continue to eat healthy - however, I wasn't born with those genetics. I HAVE to work out, and I want THAT body that I visualize all the time having.

Quick note on staying on track.. always.. always have food in the house thats healthy. LOL.. I've been so busy that I didn't go grocery shopping so all I had was some canned vegetables, brown rice, Ramen noodles (so not good for you), a couple fiber bars, one potato left and some cheese in the fridge. lol

So, I had a potato with a medley of corn and green beans. Thank goodness I still have some chocolate protein powder left.

.. ok.. back to job hunting. :)

Congratulations on reaching a milestone! You are right, you would think that once you reach a certain weight, it gets easier, but then you still have to do maintenance work so it doesn't creep back on. I agree, measuring certain foods helps me as well, because its so easy to eat more than I realize. Keep up the great work!
