This Morning, I Amazed Myself

Saturday, August 03, 2013

I have a 'long' route that I run when I'm feeling up to it. I love that route. It's a challenge, and the last time I ran it, I almost ran the whole route without walking. I also have a 'quickie challenging' route, outside of my 'have very little time, but gotta do something' route, which is just around the neighborhood. I usually drive to my 'long' route. But, it connects to my 'quickie challenging' route. Last night, I decided that, since most of what I've done is walk this week, I would be all wild and crazy, get up this morning, and see if I could make it connecting the 'quickie challenging' with the 'long' route.

I comfortably ran my 'quickie challenging' and started into the long route. I kept going and going and going and going...and thought, "Sheesh - when am I going to get tired?" It happened at the farthest point. I looked at my watch and it read 48:00. Checked my Fitbit for distance, and it read 4.5 miles. My next thought was, "Oh crap. What have I done? I have to go all the way back...and there's that huge hill which is usually at the beginning of my 'quickie challenging' route, which will now be at the tail end of my "what the Hell was I thinking" route.

I made it, though. For some reason, the Fitbit registered the total distance as 7.02 miles, watch time was 1 hour, 23 minutes.

The last time I was able to run 4 miles without stopping was about 3 years before I had kids...ELEVEN YEARS AGO!!!

Can I get an ever-so-sparkly WOOOO HOOO?????
