Week 5, Day 7 and beginning of #backontrack challenge

I don’t know what I was thinking when I thought that August would be a fun month of adventure. There are a lot of things going on such as, staff parties, family and high school reunions, Lennox Island Pow Wow, and Old Home Week. There is a lot going on and I am exhausted. It will be fun, once I get off these late shifts. It is hard coming back at 3am because I am not tired and have to unwind. I only have 2 more days of this and then back to regular shifts. My last week of the New You Challenge was a little bit of a joke as I did not do any of it. I did get back on track of my tracking and kept up exercising regularly. I have tried to walk but have cut it short because I am just so exhausted. Although I was losing steam at the end, I think this challenge was a success. I did lose 5 lbs after quite a lengthy plateau. Could I have done better? Sure and I will. I am now just trying to concentrate on my calorie differential. I figure that will take care of both eating too much nd exercising too little. Then, when I get frustrated that I have not lost anything, I will know why.
At work, I am starting a new program. The hours are different and the job is easier. I like it and think it will work out better for exercising. The thing is that I can’t have my Saturday mornings off. This is not so great for the pocketbook as I clean my brother’s cottage on Sat ams. Oh well. Now that Lavinia is here, I feel like summer is just starting but in reality, it is almost over. I just have so many lose ends to tie up this month. Some might drag out into September, but it is the time to get things done. I guess the challenge is to plan ahead of time to maximize my time, get lots of rest, and keep tracking even though it is busy. This month I am joining the August #backontrack challenge which I decided to track my calorie deficit. Unfortunately there is no deficit these first two days so I will be working to change that around.
