Garage sale and Erik!

Friday, August 02, 2013

Okay, I'm blogging in my garage.

The sale opened for 3 hours last night. I pulled the signs in and went closed up after making $6.25, the $6 was Erik's. He thought that was funny, met the neighbor buying and was amiable.
I asked him for some of his smaller bills, because I wanted to have change-seed money.
This morning I moved my car to my neighbor's drive, put out the signs and started hanging stuff when I had several customers. One lady wanted Erik's night stand for 10 instead of 12 dollars and because Erik was standing there, I asked him. It was like magic, he was engaged, part of the process, let her have it for 10 when I was thinking I should have asked 15-it was good wood after all. When he came home from therapy he was very happy to learn he had earned over &70. 00 today and asked where was the other stuff-he meant what's still at the storage unit. I pray he continues to be this amiable.
We also met a neighbor who knows a physical therapist who gets you to engage your mind in your physical movements. Roy said the guy is amazing. Erik liked him and was glad he bought some of his cammo gear and his hiking belt with two canteens-which Erik had priced at $10.00. Erik wants to meet the the PT, and Roy promised to come down and visit with Erik sometimes-I pray he does.
I did not make as much as Erik-but this really wasn't about me. Tomorrow is another day of Garage sales.

So Praise God and Thank all of my SF for your prayers, good thoughts, etc.
Hugs to all

    Hi Ginie,
Glad you had a successful yard sale. I have never had one, but I have 50 years of collecting in my house and I'm sure I should be getting rid of lots, but don't have the time to get things together because of Avon. I guess when I'm gone, Jackie will have a field day with my stuff either to sell it or just get rid of it.
Have a blessed week. Am keeping you and Erik in pray.

That is great that you made some money, and got rid of some things at the sale you had!

People are so cheap at rummage sales. I usually decided what my bottom line is and stick to it and I end up getting it from someone.

I'm glad Erik is doing so well too. It sounds like you did and excellent job of choosing things to get rid of. Sounds like things will go well.

The change in Erik's behavior is really wonderful, I hope this new therapist will be great too!

Sounds as if it went well!!! And if you still have stuff left after the garage sale, you might post a few things on craigslist - we did that and got rid of the big furniture that way. If you donate the leftover things (like to Goodwill), make sure you get a receipt - it's a tax-deductible donation!

Hope your last day goes as smoothly!

Glad your day went well and it was funny that Erik made more than you especially when he didn't want to let his thing sell. Great for both of your successes. Praying that tomorrow will be even better. Have a blessed weekend.
    Love and hugs,

How exciting that Erik got involved and seemed to enjoy it. I too hope that the neighbor follows through. That would be so good for Erik! Good luck tomorrow. Who knows, Erik might want to sell more "stuff". lol
