Update on the rebuilding of my house...

Friday, August 02, 2013

emoticon It is still up in the air so to speak. The air so to speak is how high I will have to go. FEMA Maps will not be carved in stone till Sept. 27th so I am still playing the waiting game. Laughing is better than emoticon I am trying to deal with this the best I can.

My insurance agent is telling me not to do anything till we know if I have to be 14 feet above sea level or 9 feet. I am currently at 6.3 . My gutted home is just sitting there waiting on this info and for the grants to come in to rebuild my home and to elevate it. No chance of me doing anything till the grants come in so no worries there. I have applied for a grant of up to $150.000 to rebuild and am waiting on approval.

My insurance agent also tells me if NJ gets hit with a damaging hurricane again this year, the elevations will be even higher. emoticon

I feel so happy to see your post and learn of your update. I feel glad that there is a more definitive situation at hand. Sounds to me like there is great opportunity for our lawmakers to make things a lot easier for people in situations like yours.

Thank you for keeping us all posted and for staying with us. We miss you a lot!!

Bless your heart! Can't believe that your home has been demolished this long and you are still waiting! My husband was born and raised in Jersey and remembers "The Shore" as it was. He says they used to spend a lot of their summer vacations there. I hope that soon, things are settled and you can get your home rebuilt. So sorry that you have been through this long, drawn out ordeal! God Bless You! emoticon

This is a horrible situation. Why do they have to take so long, I mean really, how do they expect you to plan, live, go on and know what to do with your life. All of the people I assume are in the same situation as you, in the waiting mode.

You are being so calm about this and handling it so much better than I would. I do hope that they figure out what they want soon and let you all know, so that you can get on with your life and make some plans to fix this mess.

Keeping you in my thoughts. emoticon

You are definitely in my prayers always my Friend!

SO sad the wheels of progress turn so slowly.

God has a reason, I know you can't see it, and that's
OK!

The future is bright & when you sit on your porch
in your rocking chair, you'll look back at this and
smile.

I just marvel at the length of time that you are being put through all this trauma when you are basically "homeless". If any of the bureaucrats were in the same spot, you can bet that it would be announced & carved in stone a darn sight faster! I am so sorry my friend. You continue to be in my prayers. I love you. emoticon
