Ughhhh hormones!!!!

Friday, August 02, 2013

Man, just got back results from another blood test and boy are some of my hormone levels crud. My thyroid is all off even with being on Armour. I have low leptin levels, low B12, low iron and low DHEA. Based on some feedback I am going to have my female hormones rechecked but at the “optical” time and also going to do a cortisol saliva test and iodine.

I knew there was something still not right and I am pretty sure that they have been off for years now. I am eating right but the weight seems to be creeping back up. I will NOT get on the scale since it is irrelevant right now plus it is part of my mental healing. I can’t say that it is not my fault because it is. I tanked them due to years of chronic exercise and trying to starve myself thin (does not work by the way)

Once I get the other tests done (I ordered them, way cheaper than going through a doctor’s office but just as reliable) I will get into see a doctor about all of this. It is all been like a giant puzzle that I am learning how all the pieces fit and if some are off how the others are all effected. I am the only one responsible for my health.

I am still plugging away at the leptin reset and started doing cold thermogenisis (that’s been interesting too). I am trying to not let any gain get to me since I KNOW that my hormones are out and until I get them better, nothing I do will make a difference. No eating plan, no amount of exercise, not even another round of HCG.

So, if someone is out there that feels like they are doing everything right but nothing is working, have your hormones checked. I went in with a list of tests that I wanted and I got them since I am the consumer, I was going to be paying for it and I am in charge of my health.

Oh and hopefully this weekend I will post pictures of my new boys (new kittens and how I got them) and some of my garden on sterioids.

Have a great day everyone.

Yeah, hormones are a bitch! I've been feeling like I might have some serious adrenal fatigue and am contemplating one of those saliva tests, since it's been a long time since I had one. Just not sure whether to see the "expensive" doc or see if my naturopath can do that. Guess she can do anything but the bloodwork ones. Actually, I could probably get my GP to do the blood tests and then maybe see the other guy if needed. And I sweat like crazy just LOOKING at exercise. Quite embarrassing at the new gym. But, hey, it always looks like I'm working hard! I should be done with the hot flash stuff, but I think I need to up my estradiol patch a bit.

Good luck, Nicole, and let us know what you discover!

I'm waiting to hear what my cortisol results are...I've had trouble sleeping...and it has impacted my weight for years. Would you please spark mail me the place to get tests done? I might try your place. Thanks!

You're a great advocate for yourself! I wish everyone who had difficulty losing weight and feeling healthy had as much dedication to finding an answer and a solution as you!

So why are your hormones out of wack and how do you get them back where they need to be?

I am right behind you, girl. Something isn't right. I just haven't been able to figure it out and my doc has been no help. She shrugs off my complaints. She tested my thyroid and estrogen, proclaimed them normal and told me to get some exercise. ???? Apparently she dismissed everything I told her. On the hunt for a new doc...
