So last night I received my BodyMedia FIT Armband, and I was too tired and cranky to deal with it.
So I brought the box with me to work today and proceed to break into it. I has taken me all morning! LOL. Most of that time was in the 3 hour charging cycle.
First I set up an account at BodyMedia.com. I get my first 3 months free, but I still hate having to fork over a credit card in order to establish an account (sure I can cancel and not get charged) but who remembers to do that. I sucked it up, figuring I can take the $ out of my out to eat lunch budget (since I need to slash that down anyway.) It's the principle of the matter.
But I got over it and did my sign up. The software looks really slick and the download and install instructions on what to plug in when and to sync to directions are actually pretty impressive. If only most software and gadget's were that easy to get going.
Still this is an investment, the Armband and display are around $100 bucks, and then there is an ongoing cost of 6.99/ mo. Hopefully I will use it and it does not become just something else hanging around in a junk drawer. Maybe paying money each month will help me get going with it.
So I finally charged the Armband and have "installed" on my left bicep. I am pretty excited to see what kind of data I can get from the thing and if it will continually bug me on my arm?
Right now it is just kinda an itchy feeling of something there that normally isn't. I figure I will adjust to the sensation.
There is also an app I can download onto my iPhone, so I will probably check that out too.
For now the plan is to wear it when I am not sleeping to see what happens over the weekend oh and see if I can figure out the sync between SparkPeople and the BodyMedia.
In other news my August is still moving along very well. Still no coffee (although my co-worker/bff has declared that if I ever drink caffeine again and have to go off again she is going to do me bodily damage.) Apparently I am "off". Ha. No not grumpy but she equated me to "herding cats". LOL. Hopefully I will be better by next week. I was super tired this morning - but now I just feel very hyper?!! Crazy. Drinking my no-caffine tea and water.
I had a powerbar for breakfast, a turkey sand for lunch, and feeling pretty good.
