This actually started with me about six weeks ago. I found a website that sends me an email every day informing me of the garage/yard sales in the area. I've been hitting a few, especially the block sales and the ones I just stumble upon while doing my walking. I found a few cute things for the condo: a really cute little heart-shaped corner table to set a plant on, some things to hang on the walls, etc. I got a ton of yarn for $1. I don't know what I am going to do with it, but I know I want to do something with it.
I also expanded my library considerably. I read while I am on the exercise bike. It's killing two birds with one stone. I love to read and it makes the exercise time go faster. But the new books brought me to a problem. The one and only bookcase in the place is not only my daughter's but it's stuffed. I have to organize it. This got me thinking : the whole place needs to be gone through and organized. Things like dirty laundry and what's in drawers and closets love to reproduce when I'm sleeping.
I found a great website almost two weeks ago called FlyLady. This site says to start getting into habits one at a time and build on them. Set the timer for 15-30 minutes and see how much I can get done. Every week concentrate on a zone in the house. Aha! A site that's helping me not only get the place clean and shaped up but gets me on a schedule that I've been saying that I need to get on.
I've been reading others' blogs and different articles and getting great ideas. I've learned that I need to decide what I want and build a solid foundation to getting there. Another Aha! I am restless and bored and looking for a schedule because I am at a point in my life where I am looking to re-define myself and really decide what I want to do and where I want to go. New goals need to be defined and I need to do some soul-searching. Everyone needs to do this. It's my turn. So, in this new month of August, I will be journaling, deciding and doing. I'm anxious to see the product at the end of the month.
A P.S. - I need to cool it on the garage sales until I weed the place out!
