I Am Struggling

This BLC has been a tough one for me. I am going to save making a list of reasons why it has been tougher than the others, and own up to the fact that I have not given my 100 percent best. I am really sorry to all my team mates and my leaders. Today I re evaluated my goals and I am made a new list to focus on for this week.

1. I will drink at least 6 -8 glasses of water a day.

2. Eat at least 4 servings of fruits and vegetables a day.

3. Ride my stationary bike for at least 30 minutes a day.

4. Track all my food each day.

5. Limit my soda to one can every other day.

I could really use some encouragement and accountability. I need to make myself accountable for what I did and did not do. I am far from where I was hoping to be at this point of the BLC. I will not give up, I can do this!

    It's always hard when you are struggling with a program. It sounds like you have re-evaluated your goals though emoticon What is the BLC?

  I have no clue what a " BLC " is, but don't bet yourself up. Pick an accountability partner and figure out how you can help each other. Maybe check in once a day or weekly.

I hope your list of things your working on aren't too long.

    Those are good goals! I'm currently focusing on #4 myself! I think, for seeing a change on the scale, it is the key. It's all a matter of taking each day and making the most of it. Trying to stay in range each day...avoiding and/or navigating danger zones throughout the day...and then going to bed and getting up and doing it again! We can do it! Keep up the good work! I can ask you if you've done them, and you can ask me the same! I am just getting back to using my stationary bike, and today was my first 30 minute day in over a month.     Congratulations on analyzing what you need to do and making a plan. That is half the battle.

Keep reviewing your list every day and keep hitting the rest button if a day does not go as planned. Everyone is behind you.

    First, I commend you for really reaching out to all of Spark and asking for the Support when you needed it...and Just look at all of the wonderful words of encouragement that has come back to you in droves.

They have covered so much...It is hard to keep going sometimes...but if we can let go of emotion and let Logic take over...Which does not come naturally...it is learned, for me anyway...When emotions say "Dig in!"...Logic says "Ah-ah-ah! You've been working hard and it will show if you REMAIN CONSISTENT."

I actually wrote a break up letter to ice cream. It is my Kryptonite! That was a few weeks ago...and it showed ice cream that I AM IN-CHARGE! Ice cream is not invited into my house any longer. Now if I want ice cream, I have a cone at the store with my kids, so I have just that portion, and then me and ice cream are done again, until logic says okay...Emotion cannot just take over and help himself anymore.

I also wear PINK when I work out, to remind me of my TEAM (PINK VIKINGS) and how hard they are working. It reminds me to work harder too. And I DO! Sometimes we are just programmed to work harder when it is for another...I don't know why it is that way...but it is for some...and so thinking about my TEAM Propels me to Work hard for THEM too! I am Ultimately the BIG WINNER with all of the extra that I do, whatever the motivation.

I PINK POWER UP and Start my morning by reading my Team Thread...I get INSPIRED and MOTIVATED through all of their ACCOMPLISHMENTS! It is infectious. Then I have a plan that seems to work WONDERS for me...It might help other's too...

FITNESS FIRST! I try to get my FITNESS in FIRST THING in the Morning...that makes CERTAIN that I make ME a PRIORITY in my Day before anything can creep up and distract me from my Goals.

I also TRACK and Check in with my Goals everyday and try to be better than I as last week or yesterday. I try to beat ME. It helps keep me moving FORWARD and MAKING PROGRESS HAPPEN.

I had a hard time going to the gym this morning. I just did not really want to...dragging my feet...but I did it anyway! I put on my PINK and it got me out the door. Now I can feel my endorphin's kicking in and my Metabolism Waking up Ready To Let More Healthy Decisions take over my day!

I also press the reset button every 24 hours. Each new day is a Do over...and I Try again! Try to be better than I was yesterday.

Of course it helps when the scale is moving in the right direction...that is Very motivating...but it is not the only thing...So measure your Success in MANY ways. Celebrate all of your Success along the way. Share your Non Scale Victories to remind you of all of the PROGRESS you ARE MAKING!

Back to the Basics...Just like you have...List out those Goals...and the GO FOR IT! Now you KNOW what you are aiming for...and you will surely hit your target more easily for knowing what you are trying to accomplish.

KNOWLEDGE IS POWER! KNOW what you have accomplished every single day and then wake-up and do it again the next day, only somehow better.

Keep CHANGING things...Change only comes from CHANGE. If you Focus on RESULTS Change will Never Come...If you Focus on CHANGE, RESULTS will come!

You are never alone...Keep on Pushing...We got your back!!!!

    Jodi ~ great goals - I can help you with the water and FM - at the end of the week I will send you a note but if you are willing to put them in the tracker daily I will check every morning to see if you are on target or not.

You can do this. Just remember why you are on this journey and keep your focus on that. We all fall off the wagon and it seems like you have gotten back on so that is what is important

    These are good goals! And totally achievable. What if you print them out and keep them in front of you at all times? Out of sight out of mind, right? So if they're there all the time staring you in the face, maybe it'll be a little harder to ignore them.

they are the basic things we need to get us on rack and keep us motivated.

With your husband being away, you have such a wonderful reason to work hard and get the weight off. And be healthier.

    Those are GREAT goals Jodi, and emoticon for reassessing your goals and the steps you want to take to reach them!!

Would you be willing to get up an additional 15 minutes to ride your bike first thing in the morning?? You could do that with a water bottle and kill two birds with one stone! I know that even if I do a little bit of cardio (like a crazy GOYBAD) for 3-6 minutes, it really revs me up for the rest of the day!!

I love tracking my food. When I first started it horrified me to see exactly what I was eating and drinking, but I stuck with it, and now it's a daily habit. It is also an amazing learning tool. You learn better options and it helps you to make better choices - it really does! Take a look see at my trackers and you'll see I do eat little bits of just about everything (but I do love my fruits and veggies!)

You CAN do this!!

    Jodi, emoticon !! I will help in any way I can....I love challenges! These are very doable goals and I know that you can reach them. Do you have a pedometer? I wear one every day. If you'd like, we can do a steps challenge. I usually do about 15K to 20K per day but you can set any amount and let me know and I'll check with you each evening to see if you got them. Just let me know....I'll do what I can to help you!

    before it goes in your mouth ask yourself if it is worth eating that to delay the feeling of reaching a goal! Seems to help me! Just stay on here even when you feel down! We all have been there and understand!

    Jodi, I just read Diane's response....a trip to Hawaii sounds like GREAT motivation and your goals are very doable and specific. Sounds like you have team support, great goals and a very specific something to work towards. How about doing a vision board and putting it up somewhere you will see it every day? For me, I'm going on a trip in October and I promised my sisters I'd wear a bathing suit on the beach. THAT is my motivation! Stop by Azure Destinations and sign up for our #backontrack challenge if you like as an added something. Every little bit helps. Don't be discouraged! You are surrounded by sparkers and BLC family and just as you did here keep on reaching out. There is always someone here 24/7, 7 days a week whenever you are in need of a hand up or a work of encouragement or a kick in the okole (butt in hawaiian) We've got your back! You CAN and you WILL end this round and head into the next having made progress! You've got this! emoticon emoticon

I KNOW you have the motivation in front of you, with your hubby away and wanting to surprise him when he returns in the Fall ... as well as the vacation planned to Hawaii. How can you keep that out in front of you every day as a reminder?
