Ran, Danced, and Started Flying

Thursday, August 01, 2013

Ran in my neighborhood this morning and then had to shower really fast and hustle to be ready for the senior dance. Should have gotten up earlier; should have gone to bed earlier. Oh, well. Got it accomplished and, other than forgetting my earrings, I was appropriately ready for the dance. Hubby and I danced more than ever and had a really good time. Then had a bowl of shrimp creole at a local restaurant -- it was a little too spicy for me, but I enjoyed some of it. Is that a new portion control method?

I came home and really worked de-cluttering the back bedroom. It will take far more than a half day to create order throughout this house, but at least I made a start. I signed up for Flylady (just google Flylady and I'm sure you can find it) after reading that it is like SparkPeople for housekeeping. Not sure that is true, but the e-mails I've received so far have got me inspired to try to make some needed improvements. As long as I add housework to my routines, and not substitute housework for my workouts, I will be improving my life.

Wishing all my SparkFriends healthy, happy days filled with purpose and as much order as you want!

I love the idea of spending an evening dancing with the hubby. Sounds like a lot of fun.

I haven't heard of Flylady but I could sure use some decluttering of my spare bedroom as well! Why do they end up the "dumping grounds" of the house??

Sounds like a great day!

Good for you getting your run in and enjoying the dance!!
I actually enjoy cleaning, but haven't felt well enough or had the time to really give it a good go. It would mean giving up my workouts to get it done, because I can't do both. An interesting idea for a website!

Wish I were quite a bit more domestic . . . I'd like the results, but so far don't have the motivation to do the work. Oh well.

Just think how obnoxious I'd be if I achieved total perfection, right? That's my excuse and I'm sticking with it, even though there is absolutely no danger!!

emoticon I lost my housecleaning mojo, but I picked up a few things, shining my sink at FlyLady... and in my "do one thing" initiative. She's got some really, really good motivational stuff going on. But somehow, going running is more fun to me than seeing a clean sink. Still, every so often, I get the urge... and maybe SOMEDAY I'll "grow up" in that area of life? It is to be hoped?

I am decluttering my spare bedroom and hopefully a couple more hours will complete that room. Liberating isn't it!

I'm sure that you will like "Flylady." I was on the site for awhile and did get some good tips but just like everywhere else...they want you to buy "stuff."
