August 2013 Goals

I was thinking about this monthly goal blog, and went back to check my August goals for other years....I discovered that on August 14, I will have been a Spark member for 3 years!
The very fi rst blog, which I wrote on the 15th, talked about the fact that I made sure that I had protein with my breakfast - that hasn't changed, and the increase in freggies - which was certainly necessary, and that I walked 1/2 mile.
A year later, I blogged about my walking, which started at 10 minutes at a time [this was to walk down to the corner and back] increasing to 20 minutes, then 30, then 45 because of an exercise challenge on an RV Enthusiasts challenge that I was in.
Then, during my second year - August 2012 - things were not so good in my life and it took me a while to get my bearings - so I didn't get a blog done, but that's okay.
So, now that I am about to start my third Spark year, what are my August goals? Well, my June and July goals have served me very well...so I will use them again! #1) I will do 1500 minutes of fitness and #2) I will have fun doing that fitness.
My Spark friends will know that I enjoy walking, so I have fun doing that. I also enjoy changing it up, and have learned to like resistance bands. I am changing it up some more this week using an elliptical trainer and going to water aerobics. I went to Zumba a few times this summer; I have yet to buy a DVD and my schedule won't work with the local classes. I just got in on the last of the Cupid Shuffle at a line dancing class - that was fun!
So...1500 or more fitness minutes, and have fun doing them...those are my August 2013 Spark goals.
