I've been seeing this saying pop up all over this week. It's really meaningful for anyone who has had a goal and people who keep telling you that you can't do it.
I know you have that person who keeps telling you that you're not good enough to reach your goal. Seeing this is a weight loss sight, I'll stick to what can happen against this particular goal.
You may live with someone who refuses to give up their favorite treat, whether it be M&M's, chips, cakes or pizza. They may even ask you if you'd like some every time they sit down to have some. You may have that every morning donut person come around the office.
How do you get around this? Keep saying no. You are in charge of you and your goals. No one else should be able to influence you if you've got your eyes on the prize!
There's the person who keep telling you that you're getting too skinny. They keep asking why you're trying so hard and that you need to eat more.
Solution: either ignore the comments or tell them the truth, you like feeling good, you enjoy being able to do things you couldn't when you were heavier and you know you can do more as you keep on working out and getting stronger. Who's opinion about your health is the most important? It should be you, no one else's opinion about you and your body should be as important as your opinion of yourself.
There's the person that tells you that you can't do it when you're so poor. You need to have money to be able to have a healthy weight and fitness level.
Hmm, I think I've proven you all wrong simply because I couldn't bet too much poorer. Fitness is free and healthy eating is actually as cheap as unhealthy eating. I feed my family of 4 for under $2 a meal every day. I exercise for free each day in my backyard. If I can do this, so can you. That 5 pound bag of potatoes is not only cheaper than the potato chips, it'll keep you fuller for longer. A bag of apples is as cheap as a box of Apple Jacks and it will keep you fuller for longer and is much healthier. Dried beans may be more time consuming, but it's full of good protein and you can get a pound of them for about $1.50.
Eew, I would never eat that! How can you stand to eat ________?
We all have our own tastes. Don't let the junk food junkie sway you from a good, healthy, filling meal for a handful of candy or a fast food meal. Once you get used to healthy eating, that junk food really bothers your body. You don't like feeling lethargic, so why go back to the unhealthy stuff. Throw it right back at them, how can you stand eating that junk?
Slow Down! You don't need to run a marathon! You can't lose weight just taking walks at lunch. You can't do anything good for yourself if you're not doing a boot camp session all the time.
Remember, you are the one who knows what your limitations are. You may feel like running a marathon. You may only have time to get movement in at lunchtime. You know that you don't have to work out like crazy to make sure your movement counts. You know that as long as you're doing something, it's what will work for you.
Don't let other people influence you. You know what you want to do and there's always a way to do it, so just go DO IT! Prove all the influencers wrong and get to your goal. They'll be surprised when you reach it because they never thought you could. You are the most important person in your life, so don't give up on yourself, you are the center of your world. Without you, where would you be?
