Whole30 Day 1

Thursday, August 01, 2013

Well, here I am, trying something different... Today is the first day of the 30 days, and I'm feeling a little hesitant, and nervous because I don't want to break any of the rules. My stomach has been off lately and I know my hormones are way out of wack, so I'm hoping this Whole30 can shed some light on what is bothering me and what I can do about it. Whole30 is only real food - no additives, no dairy, no alcohol and no sugar (even honey or maple syrup). Lots of veggies, lean protein and some fruit. Healthy fats are encouraged and no scales or tracking your food.

The areas that will be more challenging: cheese, wine and milk in my coffee - but that's not so bad. I just finished a cup of coffee black and it wasn't too bad. I put it in one of my really nice cups and finished it slowly and only had it after I had my breakfast (one of the rules).

My goal is to exercise everyday for at least 10 minutes for the next 30 days, and extending those times at least 4 of the days, and 1 being hot yoga each week. Bedtime curfew is 11:30 (yes, I realize that sounds late, but it's actually early for me).

So, that's it for now. I plan on blogging each day so I have a record of how I feel both physically and emotionally. Wish me success - to follow through and to make my health the most important thing for the next 30 days.
