So my in-home dog training started this week
. The trainer came out on Tuesday to get the ball rolling. So far, so good. My puppy seems to be responding pretty good, in my opinion. I have to work with him 3-5 x's per day for up to 15 minutes. Well, that I can't do during the week. So I've been working with him for 15 minutes in the morning (he's more compliant as he's half asleep LOL) and 30 minutes in the evenings when I get home. We are leash training at the moment. During the weekend I will work with him the 3-5 x's per day. We have an extra week to really get down what our lesson was this week as the trainer is on vacation next week.
I must say, it's just too darn hot to run right now down here in Florida. Even training (walking on leash w/martingale collar) my puppy for 15 minutes during a morning walk makes me build up enough of a sweat where I want to start my morning routine all over again.
With that being said, I am very thankful I go to Jazzercise 4 - 5 days per week, and have been for almost 8 yrs. Also, I recently learned that my health insurance offers a monthly rebate if I attend my "fitness center" 12 x's per month (3 x's per wk). Well, I am already in the habit of exceeding that, so no worries. I think it's great that health insurance companies are offering these types of incentives to get people more active & healthy.
Unfortunately, I discovered that I've gained 5 lbs since my vacation. Yes, I have been emotionally eating due to stress in my personal life. I know this. I am now getting it back under control again. One day at a time, that's all I can hope for.
