Awesome Diabetes Checkup!!

Thursday, August 01, 2013

I went to my Endo on Tuesday for my 3 month check up. My Endo was ecstatic. Since I had seen him in April, I have lost a total of 40 pound, and my A1C has dropped from 6.6 to 6.0. I told him that due to being scared of my sugars bottoming out during the night, I had taken my off 1 of my diabetes pills two months earlier. He agreed that this was the best one to stop and also gave me permission to try leaving off my other night-time diabetes pill. Tuesday night I did not take any night-time medicine, and Wednesday morning my FBS was 114. I am also no longer taking cholesterol medicine.

The only bad news was that when I got him to check my hand where I had surgery, he said that it is infected and prescribed me a 500 mg antibiotic to take twice a day.

Interesting fact: when you are diabetic, any stress, such as a systemic infection, will make your blood sugar go up. So it's good that your doctor caught this!...
Great news otherwise, though!

Keep it up!
