Where has the month gone?

Wednesday, July 31, 2013

I survived the month of July, well almost. Tough for me due to the 4th and my brother's birthday. He would have been 39 last Monday. I called my mom and we talked about some interesting things, but neither of us mentioned him.

This month I also perfected the cauliflower pizza crust, thanks in great part to parchment paper. I never knew how much I liked cauliflower until this year. I've always liked it raw, but now I crave it roasted or in the pizza crust. Tomorrow I plan on trying zucchini as a substitute for spaghetti.

I went to a Beach Boys concert. That was ok, but I much preferred the opening act. American English is a wonderful Beatles tribute band. This was my third time seeing them and can't wait to see them again. They have so much energy and try to make the show as authentic as possible. They have the mannerisms of the four and different costumes during the show. I didn't realize how much I missed going to concerts.

We also found an outdoor theater that has good prices that was fun. May need to do that again in August. It's cheaper than going to the regular movie theater and there's just something special about it.

It's been a short summer and seems like fall is already on it's way. We had some warm days and a week of hot days and now the leaves may actually be starting to change already. I'm ready for fall, but I sure miss my beach and can't believe I haven't been over there this summer. I guess there's still time.

Thanks for posting! It really is hard to believe how short summer has been. My mom used to have a saying...Time flies when you are having fun!

How wonderful! Sounds like you had a lot of fun. Think about how different your body probably felt before you started on your healthier journey. The weather has been weird all year, from snow in May to 60s in July, this is just not a normal year. Even so, August is one of the hottest months of the year, and September is still quite warm, so I'm sure you can find a nice day to get to the beach.
