Had a good run yesterday (3rd one since my Achilles tendon strain 5 weeks ago) -- upped the speed on the treadmill to 5.5 mph (walk speed was 4.0 mph), and after a 3 minute warm-up, consistently ran at 4/1 ratio. 3.37 miles in 40 minutes.
A little sore after the run (in the Achilles tendon area), but nothing like the awful pain from 5 weeks ago! Been walking and stretching it today to keep it loose. My next planned run in Friday, but if there is any residual soreness that day I'll bag the run that day and make sure the tendon gets a proper rest.
Not registered for any races just yet. Want to make sure I can get my 5K time down to at least 30 minutes before I start looking for a race. Hoping to still find a 10K to run in 2013, but want to get a 5K under my belt first (since my injury) before I get serious about a 10K again.
