Lancelot ashes and water spout

Wednesday, July 31, 2013

So the first photo here is a photo of a water spout that formed out over the lake this morning. The swirling water makes this funnel and it is something to see. They usually fall apart when they hit land but a few years back a big one came on land and caused damage. This one fell apart as soon as it hit land. It's nice to have a shower this morning. Our rainy season hasn't been as wet as normal. Our lake is really in need of water. Locals are doing rain dances and all kinds of things to try and encourage rain. Our rainy season is great as it normally rains early in the morning and then at night, but during the day the sun comes out. Anyway I am hoping and praying that the rains comes on stronger and we get the lake back up to it's full capacity.

The other photos are of Lancelot's ashes. I really didn't know what to expect when I went to pick them up today. My other kitties that I had for 20 and 21 years ashes came in little boxes. Here in Mexico as you can see they come in Mexican pottery with a little name tag (a heart) with name and date. So sweet. So Lancer Dancer is sitting on my bureau in my bedroom where I can say goodnight to him each night.

I do hope all my sparks buddies are having a great morning. Make it a great day.

My DH sisters arrive today and Tommy Jr. and his girlfriend come back from their little road trip...so full house for me.

Wow! Impressive water spout! Hope you get the rain you need!
The Mexican people know how to do it up right -that is wonderful to get a nice looking pot with a name and date on it. Our dog Bendix's ashes were in a plain urn and that cost extra otherwise it would have been in just a box. My poor uncle, not wanting anything special done, and my cheap dad ensured that his ashes were in a plastic bag inside a cloth bag!

We have had several water spouts in the bay in the last month. One came on shore and took out a screen porch on one house. Very ironic because that was the extent of the damage. Did not touch anything else on that street. The area I am in is between the Gulf of Mexico and Tampa bay. There have been quite a few water spouts on the gulf but they always seem to dissipate.

That's a really beautiful urn for Lancelot, Sallie.

The water spout picture is mesmerizing! I have heard of them, but I'd never seen one before - amazing! Glad the lake's water level will rise some now, too. Have a wonderful time with all your visitors! I know they're having the time of their life, too.

Amazing pic of the water spout. I hear you on the lake needing water... our lake view here in Colorado is now a pasture view - the lake is low that what used to be lake is now grown over and beautiful and green. I miss my lake!

I was in a water spout in Lake Erie 1 year. It was scary, but something to write home about!
