We are having a garage sale, or should I say I am. My eldest son and I decided that if I had one I could sell some of Erik's household belongings and get some pocket cash for Erik. At the same time I could get rid of some of my stuff and have a bit of cash for my trip to my nephew's wedding and later this year my niece's wedding. Since I retired this falls to me.
Well the idea is good, but even though we told Erik he would get the money from the sale of his stuff, and he'd be saving almost $200. a month for storage unit fees he's not happy to see his stuff in the garage sale. He keeps bringing stuff into the house. I'm selling my coffee pot, because according to him his is better. I'm selling my teapot, because I gave him his as a gift. The problem with Erik's stuff is he likes black-I don't. But I have been acquiescing for some things and drawing the lines for others. I've let him bring a few things in, but when he leaves Friday morning, they are going back out and I pray they sell before he gets home. I don't have the room in my house for both of our stuff. His own suite is still not a fact thanks to the court appointed guardian. I'm about ready to rip my hair out. I told his sister, he needs to be OUT OF HERE this week end. I hope she'll take him, meanwhile my eldest son will need to talk to him again.
Say a little prayer for me....
Praying that Erik's things will sell before he returns. He probably won't remember everything he had anyway. When he comes home and you hand him money, he will be happy then. I am keeping you in prayer. Joan 1390 days ago
I know the feeling. My son moved out and he doesn't want to take all of his stuff because he doesn't want his house junked up and he doesn't want to sell it either. We are giving him no choice as we don't have the room either and are downsizing. I'm having to get rid of my stuff too as we have too many things. Good luck!! 1391 days ago
