AJDOVER1 made a comment on my blog yesterday that caused an "aha" moment for me! She said:
"It's so easy to lump the week before and the week after into vacation time and give up any attempt at healthy habits."
How did she know that's EXACTLY WHAT I DO! (Or rather, what I've done in the past.)
This week I VOW not to do that. My good habits this week have resulted in another 1/2 pound loss; I'm now at 149.5. I SURELYdon't want to mess that up by treating this week before vacation as PART of the vacation, so I have to be vigilant. It's taken the entire month of July to lose what I gained in the weeks before and after my father passed away. I don't want to waste any more months covering old ground.
Today I have a full, long morning/early afternoon in town. The last time this happened I ended up getting home at 2 pm, starved, and went on a full-out binge. I will not do that today. I will stop at Subway and get a 6-inch ham sandwich with no cheese or mayo loaded with veggies; apple slices, and diet drink.
See? I'm learning.
