AJDOVER1 made a comment on my blog yesterday that caused an "aha" moment for me! She said:

"It's so easy to lump the week before and the week after into vacation time and give up any attempt at healthy habits."

How did she know that's EXACTLY WHAT I DO! (Or rather, what I've done in the past.) emoticon

This week I VOW not to do that. My good habits this week have resulted in another 1/2 pound loss; I'm now at 149.5. I SURELYdon't want to mess that up by treating this week before vacation as PART of the vacation, so I have to be vigilant. It's taken the entire month of July to lose what I gained in the weeks before and after my father passed away. I don't want to waste any more months covering old ground.

Today I have a full, long morning/early afternoon in town. The last time this happened I ended up getting home at 2 pm, starved, and went on a full-out binge. I will not do that today. I will stop at Subway and get a 6-inch ham sandwich with no cheese or mayo loaded with veggies; apple slices, and diet drink.

See? I'm learning. emoticon

Have a wonderful day, fellow Sparklers! WE ARE WORTH OUR BEST EFFORT! Here are my goals for today:

Reading your blog every day has definitely inspired me, and I believe many of others, a great deal. You set a good example, and a real example that we learn through successes and failures and we get better every minute, and every day! Thank you and have a wonderful day. emoticon

    Great Plan!!
Oft we know what to do... but implementing it is another story. Being hyperfocused our basic needs get pushed aside. Some times it is a good thing... like when you are trying to finish a task, 5K or whatever, but having an interm and post plan helps us keep the balance. As the Boy Scout motto says: "Be Prepared." And now that you are!

So true about the vacation time! I do that too (lump the bit of time before into the vacation). It is so easy to get caught up in the mentality of relaxing and letting things slide!

Best of luck with your healthy eating plan today :) It sounds like with clearing out the fridge, healthy eating is the biggest challenge for you during your pre-vacation week.

Good for you. I really pushed it the week before my vacation, watched what I ate and got very active. It helped me while on vacation. I'm sure you will be active a bit on vacation too.

Keep your eye on the prize but have fun! Balance baby!

Great plan!

What a great way to watch yourself - even if you don't stop for something to eat, at least bring a sanck with you - fruit or something else that is healthy. Keep pushing - you can do it.
