Today's entries may not seem like a lot, but that's because the Fitbit One does not track much of the kinds of work I did today.
Flights of stairs: 22
Calories burned: 2,064
Most of the work I did today was in my garden. I took down all the wood on one side of the raised beds. Then I removed the "bricks" that were at the edge of the bed when I first made them. Each brick weighs 26 pounds. Not only did I move the bricks, but I tossed them-not far (I don't want them to break) in the grass, just for the added arm workout. I pulled weeds and grass to widen the beds. That darn witch grass grows right up through the landscaper's weed cloth! It grows deeply, too. So I was reaching into the soil to get as much of the roots out as I could. I put some of the wood back up on the extended beds. The rest will have to wait until tomorrow. To finish up the time in the garden, I wove the grape vines into each other for support. That's an ongoing project, weaving in the ever growing vines. I love my grapes!
I took Jorja and Jacob to the garden center (it is very close by--we walked), then we walked to another neighborhood. I wanted to show them an old grape vine. They were amazed at the size of the trunk ("as large as a tree," they said...and they are right!) and how long the vines are, encircling the entire yard.
It was a lovely, busy day. I know I got quite a workout in.
