My brother asked me if I wanted to train together for a Triathlon starting in January. Heck Yeah I do!
I ran a marathon 2 years ago after which I swore up and down I would never ever ever do an endurance event ever again. But Now that some time has passed I have been finding myself itching to have a goal to work towards that really challenges me. The reason I love the idea of training with my brother for the triathlon is because it was after I finished the marathon that he shared with me that he would like to try something like that. I was so touched that I could inspire my brother to try something out and that he was so proud of my accomplishment.
So we are taking our time with it. We have to get the proper equipment and kind of get prepared and in the right space to make such a time and energy commitment. But I am excited. Plus since I have managed to get so out of shape recently I have to pre-train to even get in shape to do the triathlon training.
I got up this morning and walk/jogged 5 miles and it was challenging even though I walked most of it! I have a pool right near me that I will start swimming in. I do not own a bike yet. So that will come in the next month or two. I am going to just alternate running and swimming for the next couple of months. And then I will add in biking. I will sort of ramp it up towards January and then start on the formal training in the new year. I am very excited to have this to work towards!
