day #4 of Get Running

Well, I didn't have time to run yesterday because I ended up getting a haircut with my mom. Here's my new look!

Anyhow, back to the running I did today. Well, I definitely didn't feel ready to increase the amount of time spent running in the second week's routine. Even though they only increase it by :30 seconds, plus it reduces the amount of times you have to run from 8 to 6, but I don't know, I just wasn't feeling that great about changing it. That ended up being a good decision. All my runs so far have been after a small breakfast in the morning, and this time it was much later in the day after I drank a ton of water and had more food digesting than other times...so I started getting some cramps and felt water juggling around in my stomach... :( I did finish the routine and walked a bit longer past the cool down period, but ehhh. I think I'll do another week of week one and see how it goes. I like it but I don't want to stress my body out too much, right now my shoulders and back hurt which is probably more related to the way I sleep and maybe some gas than anything, but my knees kind of hurt too which is probably more related to running...although it could be my strength training with different types of lunges too.

Anyways, I was happy I accomplished the running today when I wanted to give up, and it was a wonderful, beautiful day for it... I'll let you know how it goes on Thursday day #5

and also that's awesome that you listened to your body, that's sometimes hard to do when you have "goals" but usually it's the nicest thing you can do to yourself, haha. exercise and healthy living shouldn't be a punishment but rather a choice, and choices aren't always rigid! keep up the awesome!
