SLACKER

Can't believe I haven't posted a hiking blog in over 2 months!

I am still hiking, and for the past couple of months I've been sharing the trail quite often with a very special friend.

I have invited him into my "hiking world" and I'm showing him my favorite hiking spots. He has invited me into his "music world". He plays guitar and piano for me and he's teaching me how to play the guitar.

What's more, he cooks... (Really!) All healthy and mostly organic. We're sharing our knowledge about health and fitness and we've had some great kitchen adventures.

Life, of course, still presents its challenges (my son is still reason for concern, and short of throwing him out, I wish I could find a way to get him to move out; and so is my job, as we are going through a change in management). But I refuse to dwell on things which are largely out of my control. Waste of my time and energy. I have better things to do...

Taken on top of Mt. Baldy just a couple of weeks ago.

You are hardly a slacker! Sometimes paying attention to life offline takes priority. It certainly sounds like you have made very good choices in that regard emoticon

Congrats on all the fun times you are having! I hope that part of life continues to go swimmingly and that the other situations resolve themselves.

I am so happy for you!

Interesting that we have a Mt. Baldy here - and I have no idea whether it can be climbed. Hunh!

So happy you have found a special friend and have much in common. I hope you find happiness in all areas of your life. I know that with Mike in my life, everything seems so much better and the difficult times are easier to get through.

So sorry for the stress in your life. So good though for you to hike with your friend as it is such a great stress reducer.
    Have a great day.

So glad to hear from you -- glad you are still hiking and found someone new to share your interests with. He sounds great -- a good partner is one who wants to share your interests, and one whose interests you want to share.

Love your attitude about the stuff you can't control. VERY healthy and so not slacker like!

I'm glad you're still around and doing well. I hope your friend gets hooked on hiking. Guitar sounds fun. Duets in the future? It's wonderful that he's a good cook, too.

Glad you are sharing time with a special friend - :)

my friend's husband did Mt Baldy (first time) - poor guy - he got very sick even though he is in good shape. He will climb it again next Monday with better shoes & snacks.
