Still hanging on

When last I wrote, I was seeking renewed motivation, especially with two weddings coming up. Here I am, between the two weddings, and still in about the same place. I'm up a bit (5 pounds) as a result of the first wedding in June. Need to get those off before the second wedding in 25 days or my dress won't be comfortable.

I keep signing in. I keep doing well on my eating up until I get home from work. And then I'm losing control of where I'd like to be. Time to enlist the help of my DH to get me in and out of the kitchen as soon as possible. If I'm not in that room, I'm able to stay in control.

Coming back to my Spark Page, I'm disappointed to see how few of my SparkFriends are still using the site. If nothing else, I will keep checking in, even as the doldrums continue. If I leave the site, I'm sure it will be too easy to stop paying attention at all. Staying on a plateau is far better than ballooning back to my old self.

I'm not finished yet!

    Hang in there! As one who left sparkpeople and then came back, I can tell you I not only ballooned back to my former weight but gained even MORE! I'm glad I started over again and I know what will happen if I leave. As for being in the doldrums...this too shall pass! emoticon

    Hang in there! One good thing about Sparkpeople is that many times our friends who have left come right back and we have a chance to reconnect with them...

You're surely right though, about not wanting to slip back into past behavior...

    Have you tried the Fast Metabolism Diet by Nutritionist Haley Pomroy? It only takes 28 days to complete a cycle. In those 28days, I lost 24 lbs. and 14inches!! Lots of people are having success watching the lbs. drop off day by day. For me it was the program my body does the best on. Pretty much a food rotation diet geared toward getting your metabolism revved and burning fat.

It's only 28days!! Who can't do that! Right? If you are interested there is a team and on the team site it explains the program.

I watched Pomroy on Dr. Oz one day and everything she said made so much sense to me.
