Dieting doesn't have to be perfect as I'll demonstrate today. Since my wife works late tonight, I'm on my own all day and I'm taking full advantage to scratch my pizza itch. So, I visited the local "Pizza Man" store to get what they call their lunch special, 2 pieces of pizza and a can of pop for $4.
These are large, medium to thick crust pieces, which according to my office food scale and SparkPeople are around 450 calories per slice. Obviously two pieces is more than a normal lunch even for non-dieters, especially if the soda is full strength. So if you haven't already guessed, the soda is indeed diet and the second slice will be dinner tonight. Again, these are large, filling slices that need little else.
I'll have some salad, too, when I get home, more of the bounty from Sunday's trip to the Farmers Market. I'll have a little dessert with my wife when she gets home. And calories should be in line, in fact low.
So while I am not going to please every dietician and chef today, I am planning. I will like what I eat. I will get at least some reasonable nutrition. And I will lose weight, too!
