I spent Thursday - Saturday watching DD#2 in a volleyball tournament. She was asked to play for both Team A & B (which is basically Varsity & JV, but it isn't official since they haven't had tryouts). I was on vacation, so I was able to take her to the tournament, which was about 45 mins. away.
On Thursday she had to be there by 8 am until 6:30 pm! I packed lunch and healthy snacks for both of us. There was a lot of standing around and some breaks in between games. I did manage to take a walk around the high school campus, so that was my 30 mins. of exercise (DH' s work healthy living challenge). DD#2 and I met my sister, niece, great nephew (GN) and DD#3 for dinner. They had been at a water park that was close by to where we were, so I had a great salad for dinner.
Both Team A & B did well on Thursday, so Team A had to play at the top seeded gym, which meant DD#2 could only play for Team A on Friday since they were playing at different high schools. We didn't have to be there until 11:30, so we ate a late breakfast and I packed snacks. I was again able to walk around campus for my 30 mins. of exercise.
We finished up late again Saturday, but when we got home, DH was babysitting GN so we took him for a long walk on the greenway (about 45 mins.).
DH's niece and family came by for a visit (surprise, we weren't expecting them - but that's DH's family!). They were staying with her husband's Dad and were on their way to a local attraction, so they didn't stay long. We did take about a 45 min. walk around our property and the new subdivision behind us.
I also ran with DD#2 on Sunday at the indoor gym. I was really proud that she still wanted to run even after her long tournament (and spending Saturday night with a friend and swimming late), but she said she wants to stay conditioned since they don't do any running for volleyball and if she plays varsity, she'll play right into basketball season (my head is spinning from the schedule!).
I ran 1 mile and then walked a couple of laps and ran another mile. It's been over a week since I've ran, so I was feeling it! I couldn't quite run 2 miles straight, but I got in close to 3 miles with walking /running (kind of lost count of the laps!).
Yesterday I took DD#1 and boyfriend to a college tour. We had to meet boyfriend's Mom @ 7:30 and pick him up and then go to DD#1's high school for open house @ 8:00. She wanted to get there early to get a good parking permit & locker (Seniors get first pick).
We went straight from there to the college (about 45 mins. away). We had an informational session and then a 1 1/2 hour walking tour of the campus. My sister, niece & GN met us and then my niece took us on a private tour (she is an alumni and also works at this college). DD#1 is very interested in going, which I'm glad because her other choice is in downtown Atlanta! I like this campus much better and it's nice to have my niece nearby!
Anyway, by the time we finished, I had blisters! We didn't get to eat lunch until 3:00!
I'm back at work today and exhausted! I'm hoping my weigh in will be ok tomorrow. I know I didn't over eat since I probably missed a meal each day, but my eating was way out of whack. I also did a lot of driving and sitting around, but I did manage to get in my exercise.
So again, since I'm doing these challenges, I tried to be prepared with both eating and exercise!
