Pick up Lancelot ashes today.

Tuesday, July 30, 2013

I was told they would be ready after 10 am today so will pick them up. Not sure how they come here in Mexico but when I had two Siamese cats (one for 20 years and one for 21 years) their ashes came in nice little wooden boxes. I still have them somewhere. Lancelot's sister, Guinevere seems to miss him and wants tons of loving from my DH and I. I guess it's because the two of them were always together sleeping in what I called "a pile of cat". I sure miss my little guy as well.

Today will be a busy day getting the casita in our house next door ready for company. My girlfriend Gail who had her gall bladder out is still not doing too well. The casita is in the house we own that they rent from us and we will need the space so that when Tommy Jr and girlfriend come back they can stay there. The two guests suites in our main house will be taken up by my DH's sisters who arrive tomorrow. So we will have a household of company for a week. Should be fun. The good news is that we have an outdoor living room that is away from the house out near the pool which I will insist that everyone goes to at night when they want to drink and stay up late laughing and such. With not drinking, I have no problem going to bed at my regular time to read and have quiet time. I will talk to the sisters to make them understand that all "partying" occurs out in that room at night so I can chill out. Funny how I am now....I am into my routines and don't want to disrupt them as I don't want to get sick. So I know they will all understand when I talk to them. They are all nice folks.

I do hope all of you are doing just great.
Have a terrific day.
Sallie

Lancelot was dearly loved. What a gift to him and you!

I admire you for staying with your "plan" not because you have health issues, because you have made a commitment to yourself to take the best care of yourself!

I have health issues ... I have had them for a looooong time. I have not changed my evil ways because of them for very long. This time I am changing for me. I deserve the best I can give ME. I give no less to others.

I just in the last two months retired. I worked with some awesome people in a company clinic for work related issues - a bunch of health nuts. There were a couple of us really overweight. We were the ones that food was pushed on. Eat this, eat that, have some of this it is good. They talked very openly about how people were crazy to not take care of themselves - how could they lose sight of their health. After one of these discussion, the RN approached me and said she noticed I had a pained look on my face. I share that I was one of those crazy people who had not taken good care of myself. I was one of "those" people they were talking about. Her come back was, we don't think of you as overweight because we know you and how smart you are. We see how you treat everyone else and share your healthy knowledge.

I am going to treat ME as good as I treat others!

Sounds like you have a plan and also will be kept busy. I know that missing Lancelot will be hard but while you have so many other people visiting, it might be a bit easier for a while a least.

I'm so glad you have learned to firmly say no to participating in the partying- your health issues make it easier, I'll bet.
Have fun with all the company.

It's nice that you have a place where people can party and you can still have your piece and quiet. When DH went to the hospital last year, Sophie would sit at the front door and whine for several weeks. It was so sad. Have a wonderful day!
