Surviving on the road

Tuesday, July 30, 2013

So this is my longest road trip since I started Sparking in January. I am almost at the 20 lb weight loss and down about 12 inches across my entire body. I admit I had anxiety about leaving my comfort zone and going on the road. My comfort zone is my YMCA and cooking and eating my own prepared home foods. So after getting advice from Sparkers day one is down and I have done well. I did not overheat on our 11 hour car ride . So proud of myself.
I packed healthy fruits, bananas, pears and apples. Brought some almonds almond and ground flax. I am drinking plenty of water to stay hydrated. It's hot out here! I also brought Greek yogurt and dark chocolate for a small square treat daily. ( I actually took one square of my organic dark chocolate and mint bar infused in peppermint oil. So yummy! I went to subway on road had a 6 inch chicken sandwich no chips or drink. I feel my warrior coming out. I got up at the hotel this morning and all they had was carbs so I made a waffle but added 2 TBSP of ground flax to my waffle. I see this can be done in the context of your normal life. Now I know it Malay get a little more challenging when we get to our friends but I am determined to stay on track. Have a great day Spark friends. Going outside to enjoy this beautiful scenery in El Paso and take in a short walk!
