Challenging Week Ahead

Tuesday, July 30, 2013

We will be leaving for Colorado on Monday morning, so we have a lot of odds and ends to tie up this week.

We will be putting our fitness center membership on hold for the month of August so tomorrow will be my last class. emoticon

My goal for this week will be to do Spark Videos to make up for the classes I will be missing on Thursday and Friday.

Normally our routine starts to fall apart the week before we leave: meals get weird and less balanced as we eat down the perishables in the fridge. Workouts get skipped as the list of things to do hits critical mass.

So I'm trying to be more prepared and not let that happen: I have a "to do" list for every day between now and Sunday, and at the top of each day is the workout I plan to do! I CAN DO THIS!

I checked out the Spark exercise DVD I got when I joined SparkCoach -- it's called Fit, Firm, and Fired Up. It has 7 different 10-minute workouts. The ones I've viewed so far use either a mat or handweights, so I'm pretty sure I'll be able to do the workout in the limited space we have in our trailer.

Now, if I can only find the motivation to actually *DO* it in the trailer....

On a related note, I'm down 2 pounds for the week so only 14 pounds until I hit my goal. I'm determined that I will continue to lose weight while we are on vacation, which is certainly not my usual pattern.

Have a great day, Sparkfriends! Keep moving forward! WE are worth the effort!

    You're a smart cookie! emoticon
It's so easy to lump the week before and the week after into vacation time and give up any attempt at healthy habits.

Great plan! Perhaps this time you won't actually hit "critica mass." Have a great vacation!

I admire the way you are able to "work around" the problems that would make most of us give up while we were away.

Great attitude! Rather than trying to do the videos in your trailer, I'm sure there are other ways you can get in exercise while you are away! For instance, I'm sure you'll be doing a ton of walking! What always gets me on vacation is the food more than the activity. I feel like when we go away, we're doing lots of swimming and walking.....but we get stuck in that vacation mentality and our eating goes down the tube.

Best of luck with your plans!

You are so organized! That is a good thing because it means you have a plan. :) As for the workouts perhaps you can schedule it. Do a workout first thing before you get dressed for the day even. This way you have one workout under your belt before breakfast. Besides you said it was only ten minutes. Make a "to do" list for while your away. You brush your teeth, comb your hair.... so just make a little ten minute workout here and there as part of your self care routine.
You are so right:
" WE are worth the effort! "

You can do it! You have that motivation of only being 14 lbs away! Have a great vacation!
