The short and sweet

Tuesday, July 30, 2013

I took Molly and CJ shopping today. As expected, they do not know each other AT ALL! He is impetuous, irresponsible and immature. Hopefully, he can make it through Basic and the military will create a man out of him. I met his dad today who told Rich that CJ has authority and anger issues. Oh, joy! Things that make a mother's heart sing.

Fortunately, Molly can handle him. Physically, anyway. Emotionally, she can be very fragile, although you would only see it if you knew her well.

Anyway, I like his dad. Hopefully, I will like his mom, too. I have a feeling that we will be seeing and talking to them a lot!

We shopped, the kids got their wedding bands and...nothing. Molly could not find a dress that she liked.

Then there are the family dynamics. Angie (the oldest stepdaughter) is ticked because the attention is not on her. She will not be coming to the wedding tomorrow. And then Molly's best friend, who has been like her sister for 10 years, actually was flirting with Molly's husband the day that she met CJ! Needless to say, she is not invited, either.

GROAN! Such fun!

Tomorrow I go to work, pick up the cake and take it to the restaurant. The church vows are at 6pm, then dinner. I will try to blog tomorrow am from work. If not, have a great Tuesday!

I will continue to pray for you and your family - the dynamics of the situation are really difficult. It is a good thing you are strong and loving. Prayer is important at this time and I will lift you ALL up.

Gosh, that is a lot on your plate. You love your daughter and want the best for her I can tell. Hopefully the service will straighten him out and he will grow up.
Best of everything to you.

What DONNABRIGHT said! *clinging to silver lining*

I know this has to be so hard...can't imagine(someday I'll know as mom of 2 daughters)...but you sound like an amazingly loving supportive mom & that will always be something that Molly will treasure.

Great news on liking the dad - hopefully CJ will grow into a man like his father and they will do well together.

We cannot know the path our children will take; we can only love and support them as they move along. I pray this day be one of special memories to cherish for you and all those who attend. All other distractions will fade away... Be happy, be well, dear one. You know you are in the arms of Jesus and you are His princess! Hallelujah! Oh! And remember Jesus' first miracle was at a wedding!! JOY emoticon emoticon
